About Mosaic

Fourteen years of spacious rooms, familiar faces and active mornings in JLT

Mosaic Nursery DMCC opened in Cluster T in 2012 with eighteen children and four practitioners. We have grown carefully since then — never faster than we could hire well — and today we are a KHDA-permitted centre for children aged 18 months – 5 years.

Our story

Started by two practitioners who wanted fewer children per adult

Mosaic began because our founders — both early years teachers who had worked in large Dubai settings — kept running into the same problem. The rooms were beautiful, the marketing was polished, and there were simply too many children per adult for anyone to notice the quiet ones.

So the first version of Mosaic was deliberately small: two rooms on the first floor of Fortune Executive Tower, eighteen children, and a rule that no practitioner would ever be responsible for more children than they could name a favourite book for. Fourteen years later the centre is considerably larger, but that rule has not moved.

Families come to us mainly from JLT, Dubai Marina, JBR and Furjan, and a meaningful share arrive on the recommendation of a family who has already been through with an older child. Many stay for the full journey from Toddlers to their final year before school.

Who we are

Our setting as it stands today

10,000 square feets on one level in Cluster T, five rooms and a large indoor playroom.

5 rooms

Plus a school-readiness strand and after-nursery clubs, all on one level with no stairs for children.

Qualified team

A multilingual team of qualified and trained early years practitioners in every room.

11 languages

Spoken across the team, including Arabic, Tagalog, Hindi, French and Swahili. English is the language of instruction.

Our values

Vision, mission and philosophy

Three short statements, and then the five values that decide what actually happens in our rooms at eleven o'clock on a Tuesday morning.

Vision

A nursery in which every child is known well enough that the adults around them can say, without checking a file, what that child is working on this week and what they need next.

Mission

We shape young minds so they can pursue highest levels of academic and professional excellence and become role models for their communities

Philosophy

Play is the work rather than the reward. Relationships come before curriculum. The environment is the third teacher. And parents are partners rather than an audience.

Five values

Respect

We speak to a one-year-old the way we would speak to an adult: we explain before we lift, we wait for an answer, and we do not talk over children's heads about them.

Curiosity

A question a child asks is worth more than a plan an adult wrote. Our studies change direction when children push them somewhere more interesting.

Belonging

Every child has a cubby with their name and photograph, a key person who greets them, and a room where their own work is on the wall rather than a commercial poster.

Independence

Children pour their own water, fasten their own shoes, wipe their own table and carry their own plate. It is slower. It is also the whole point.

Partnership with parents

You know your child better than we do. We ask for that knowledge before day one, act on it, and tell you specifically what happened rather than sending a cheerful summary.

What makes us unique

Four differences, stated honestly

Every nursery website claims to be different. The only useful version of that claim states what a setting is not alongside what it is, because both are choices with consequences for your family.

  • Large rooms, published ratios

We publish every ratio and staff to it, from 1:5 in Toddlers.

What we are not: We are not the cheapest nursery in JLT, and small groups are the reason.

  • One key person, kept

Your child's key person changes as rarely as we can arrange it.

What we are not: We are not a setting where a different adult hands you your child each evening.

  • Play-based, and honest about it

Children spend most of the day choosing their own work.

What we are not: We do not sell early formal literacy or worksheets to four-year-olds.

  • Inclusion in-house

A full-time inclusion lead and space for visiting therapists.

What we are not: We do not quietly suggest that a child who needs support might be happier elsewhere.

Regulation

KHDA & regulatory standing

Every early years centre in Dubai operates under a permit issued by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. Ours is renewed annually and displayed at reception; we are happy to show you the current certificate on your tour.

  • KHDA permit number700035
  • Permitted age range18 months – 5 years
  • Permit first issuedSeptember 2012
  • Most recent renewalFebruary 2026
  • DMCC trade licenceJLT 67379

Beyond the KHDA permit we hold a current Dubai Municipality certification. Staff files, ratios, medication records and incident logs are maintained to KHDA standards and available to inspectors without notice.

Our published ratios meet or exceed KHDA minimums for every age band, and we do not count the manager or administrative staff in room ratios. If a practitioner is absent, we cover from our own bank of trained relief staff rather than raising group sizes.

Ask on your tour to see the KHDA permit and the current staff qualification matrix. Any nursery in Dubai should be able to produce both within a minute.

Places for the 2026–27 year

Come and see a real morning at Mosaic

The best way to choose a nursery is to stand in the room while it is being used. Tours run on weekday mornings, take about forty minutes, and always finish with time for your questions — no sales pitch, no obligation.
